Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 from Stavanger) is a Norwegian artist and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise by music journalists and press. She has recorded several high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and are widely loved. Katy Perry's endorsement of her track Runaway in a blog post gave the artist some additional appreciation. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to pursue music solely for pleasure or to aid in development but instead, she should pursue it. In order to do so she wrote her first songs that were her own creations. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform her music in public when her mother said they can help other people, not to gain fame with her work but to make those around them see their own importance and how they can affect the world. Piano was her first instrument, at six. She started writing music when she turned nine. It was unknown to her family until she was fourteen. The dream was never to become Aurora. She says she just likes writing music. She says that music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
